Technical Stuff
Boring for some but important to others
The d8b console has 24 fully loaded input channels 12 with mic
amps & all with line trims (on top of this we have 4 channels
of TLA Valve & 1 Jo Meek mic amp). By fully loaded we mean 4
EQ Types, Compressors, Expanders & Gates on all but FX Returns'
24 MULTITRACK Returns + 8 Extra returns for outboard gear. 12 Aux
sends + 8 Audio busses & 8 Sub groups. The d8b MFX card give
you 2 stereo multi fx's plug in's. The UFX cards give you 4 stereo
or 8 mono plug in's by TC / ANTARES & ACUMA and it is quite
feasible to do a complicated mix with the HD 24 & Logic Audio
(and its array of plug in FX) without ever leaving the Digital Domain.
ie: No outboard = instant recall of mixes.
Logic Audio Deals with the Midi side of things and provides more
audio tracks 24 / 32 / it depends. It is also a wonderful editing
/ manipulation tool for audio and Midi, plus we are also constantly
adding to our collection of VST Plugins,Synths & Keyboards.
d8b / HD 24 & Logic all run as one integrated unit from an Apogee word clock and just about every function
is automated with the d8b and Logic control consoles.
As far as recording is concerned, our aim is to capture your sound/song/idea
and because we use 2 Samson Foldback amps it allows us to give 2
completely separate foldback mixes & each mix has 4 separate
outputs with discreet level & EQ so we can deafen the drummer
but look after the singer or visa versa!!
